The projects comprised by this Research Unit are divided into 9 subprojects:
- SP 1: Thermodynamic properties of silicate solids and liquids and iron to the TPa range from ab-initio calculations
- SP 2: Ab initio simulations of rocky mantle materials under extreme conditions
- SP 3: Ab initio simulations for thermophysical properties of molecular HCNO mixtures
- SP 4: Structural and thermal models of rocky planets and solid exoplanets
- SP 5: Structure and thermal evolution models for Neptune-like planets
- SP 6: Constraining the interiors of exoplanets by measuring the Love number k2
- SP 7: Dynamic compression experiments of rock material at free electron lasers
- SP 8: Super-Earth's Mantle Forming Materials at Static Pressures over 500 GPa and High Temperatures
- SP 9: Experimental study of planetary ices at high pressure using dynamically-driven diamondanvil cells
